How much does it cost to travel in Central America?
The cost of travelling in the countries of Central America lies between the inexpensive destinations of Asia and the pricier regions of North America and Western Europe.
The average cost per day for a solo traveller in the region is $80 but this ranges from below $50 in Nicaragua and Guatemala to around $100 in the more frequently visited destinations in Mexico. Meals are inexpensive and hearty throughout Central America, a plate of rice and beans can be found for around $5 in many parts of Central America.
