How much does it cost to travel in Central Asia?
Central Asia is still a relatively untravelled region. During the twentieth century many of these countries were off limits to foreigners, however, today a significant proportion of Central Asia is open to backpackers. It is always best to check government advice in your home country for the latest safety information.
Kyrgystan, Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan offer fantastic mountains for trekking. You can eat, sleep and travel for around $30 a day in these countries. Others come to Central Asia for more serious mountaineering, to fish or to breath in the culture through the beautiful and historic surroundings.
