How much does it cost to travel in East Asia?
A trip to East Asia could include: visiting temples, trekking along cliffs and through deserts, seeing historic sights including the Great Wall of China, and experiencing vibrant cities.
The most pricey East Asian destination to travel through is also the most technologically developed: Japan. If you are travelling in a pair through this buzzing country you can expect to pay at least $100 each per day. China and Hong Kong cost around half as much as Japan to backpack through. From China, it is possible to cross into Laos and Vietnam and continue your adventure throughout South East Asia.
